Aurora Plastics Breaks Ground on Ohio Expansion

Aurora Plastics broke ground yesterday for the expansion of its operations located in Streetsboro, OH. The company said the expansion will allow it to grow its thermoplastic compounding capabilities in rigid PVC, rigid PVC alloys, and CPVC. It expects to add more than 100 million pounds of new capacity once the project is completed in the fourth quarter of 2023.

“We see continued strength in our end markets for Aurora’s products and services over the next several years,” said CEO Darrel Hughes. “This investment in added capacity and capabilities allows us to further accelerate our growth and enables innovative new product development.”

The Streetsboro location is the company’s largest facility. It also operates manufacturing plants in North Carolina, Massachusetts, Texas, and Quebec. “Streetsboro operations are industry leading, incorporating sophisticated compounding assets and process controls. Streetsboro is also the location of our rigid-polymer technical center,” said Hughes.

The Streetsboro project complements capabilities at other Aurora Plastics facilities and expansions across its network, said the company. In addition to an increased footprint and additional capacity, the expansion will also create 30 new jobs in Streetsboro.
