Canada’s Axiom Engineered Systems LLC has announced expansion plans in the United States to supplement production in Ontario and Mexico and meet an influx of recent contracts from US customers. The first of four planned US facilities will be located in Capac, MI, said the company, a subsidiary of Axiom Group in Aurora, ON.

The 123,000-square-foot plant will be Axiom’s first US facility providing plastic injection molding, warehousing, and distribution services. Initially, it will be equipped with nine injection molding machines ranging in size from 950 to 2400 tons.

The project is expected to generate a total capital investment of $13.3 million and create more than 200 jobs, supported by a $1.24 million Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant. Axiom Engineered Systems is designed to double in size, in terms of both sales and employment, over the next three years.

“Working with the MEDC and local governments has helped to make this Capac, MI, location possible, and we extend our gratitude for making this happen,” said Axiom Group President and CEO Perry Rizzo. “The Capac facility already has secured more than $50 million in new business and will begin operations within an eight-month timeframe.”

The Axiom Group’s vertically integrated systems provide automotive OEMs with a full range of product design, manufacturing, assembly, and logistics services.
