Future Foam adding $3M Texas plant

Polyurethane foam specialist Future Foam Inc. will spend $3 million to renovate a 341,840-square-foot plant in Garland, Texas, creating 104 full-time jobs.

The Council Bluffs, Iowa-based company says it also has plans for further expansion at the site in coming years.

Production is expected to start by the end of 2021.

The building in Garland is nearly 60 years old and has been empty since 2005. A rail service line to the site also will be reactivated as part of the work.

“Future Foam is excited to announce the expansion of manufacturing operations into Garland, which is advantageous for its strategic location and manufacturing resources,” Chief Financial Officer Patrick Medinger said in a news release.

Future Foam focuses on the bedding and flooring markets. It has facilities across the U.S., but has had no foam pouring facilities in the Southwest. It also provides foam to Heubach Corp., which is based in Garland.
