It’s Showtime Folks: Registration Open for Inaugural PTXPO

Registration is open for The Plastics Technology Expo (PTXPO), presented by Gardner Business Media Inc. and its media brands Plastics Technology, MoldMaking Technology, and Additive Manufacturing.  The event will take place March 29-31 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill., close to Chicago’s O’Hare Airport.

The halls of PTXPO will be filled with equipment, machinery, tooling, materials, and more to help North American plastics processors find out what’s new out there to help them be more profitable, and maybe even find new suppliers altogether. Over two-and-a-half days, there will be free education sessions, demonstrations of whirring machinery, and exclusive networking opportunities. PTXPO will also feature an exhibit hall divided into major process and product pavilions to maximize efficiency for attendees.

This is a new trade show that Gardner and its media brands put together because our audience told us there was a need. In subscriber research we conducted a part of our due diligence, a whopping 86% of survey respondents told us that “a major plastics exhibition and conference hosted in the U.S. (located specifically in the Chicagoland area) and featuring the latest equipment and technology demonstrations, materials advances, innovations, and industry best practices is an essential resource for my professional development and networking within the industry.”

But please don’t think of PTXPO as a regional show; it’s not. Frankly, nor is it intended as global show along the lines of NPE, K, or Chinaplas. What it will be is an event in the Midwest where North American processors of all kinds can interact and network with suppliers of primary machinery, auxiliary equipment, molds/tooling and materials/additives.

The last time a plastics trade show as held in the Chicago area was NPE2009. “Our team excited to bring a major plastics processing trade show back to the Midwest,” says Allison Kline Miller, Gardner Business Media’s chief events officer. “We know that this region is the focal point of the industry and has been underserved for the last nine years,” she adds.

What better way to begin to build redundancy in your supply chain than to walk the floor of a new trade show and shake hands with companies that might be new to you.

Plastics Technology Expo passes are available for $50 through Feb. 28, 2022 or $65 beginning March 1, 2022. The pass includes admission to all of PTXPO expo halls and show floor events.

Plastics Technology Expo exhibitors represent technology and solution providers from the entire supply chain including automotive, auxiliary equipment, bottling & containers, consumer products, extrusion & thermoforming, injection & blow molding, materials & sourcing, additive manufacturing, medical, mold making, packaging, reclaim & scrap, tooling and more.

It also comes at a time when manufacturers of all types—plastics processors among them—are struggling with supply chain issues. What better way to begin to build redundancy in your supply chain than to walk the floor of a trade show and shake hands with companies that might be new to you.
