Have you checked out Plastics Technology’s upcoming Extrusion 2021 Conference? It’s going to be held Sept. 21-23 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill., a short drive from O’Hare Airport.

Over the course of two-and-half+ days, attendees will be able to sit in on presentations from more than 70 technical experts covering a wide range of subject areas. We’re organizing our program the same way we’ve been doing it since we launched the Extrusion Conference in 2015: The morning sessions on each day will include presentations on general extrusion topics. During each afternoon there will be three concurrent breakout sessions that hone in on your particular process: film/sheet; pipe/profile/tubing; and compounding. And this year we’ve added a track on Post-Consumer Recycling.

If you extrude sheet or film, during these two afternoon sessions you’ll have the opportunity to learn more about best practices in PE film production, high-speed PP sheet, troubleshooting, winding, thickness measurement options, and lots more. You’ll also have unfettered access to the Recycling track. 

And if you’re in film extrusion in particular, you can also sign up for a Pre-Conference Symposium on the afternoon of Sept. 20. Organized by TAPPI, this program has a strong emphasis on the increasingly important issue of sustainability and how flexible packaging must adjust to the circular economy.

But don’t sleep in because there is plenty on the agenda each morning for you: screw design basics, troubleshooting conveying systems, best practices in drying and blending, new developments in filtration and melt pump technologies, how to make more efficient use of reclaim, new approaches in color, and way more.

In addition to the technical program, there will be ample opportunity for you to mingle with the more than 30 companies who will be exhibiting at this event.
