Kureha to Boost PVDF Production

Japan’s Kureha Corp. plans to increase production capacity for polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) at its Iwaki factory in Fukushima, Japan. PVDF is used as a binder material for lithium-ion batteries (LiBs) and as an engineering plastic in various industrial applications such as chemical process and semiconductor manufacturing equipment. Kautex Maschinenbau Declares Insolvency

Extrusion blow molding equipment company Kautex Maschinenbau GmbH has declared the production site at its headquarters in Bonn, Germany to be insolvent as of Aug. 25, 2023, according to a press release posted on its website. UAW members at Detroit 3 authorize strike if talks break down

UAW members at the Detroit 3 agreed to let the union call a strike if contract talks break down with a Sept. 14 deadline looming, as reported by our sister publication Automotive News.
