Jabil Cayey Puerto Rico Earns MedAccred Medical Molding Accreditation

Jabil is on a roll when it comes to MedAccred accreditation for plastics injection molding. Earlier this year in March, we reported that the contract manufacturer was the first injection molder in Mexico to achieve MedAccred accreditation. Now, Jabil’s Puerto Rican operation, Jabil Cayey, announces that it has met the program’s requirements, making it the first company in Puerto Rico to achieve certification.

MedAccred audit and accreditation ensures that critical manufacturing processes meet requirements set by the subscribing member companies of the program, which include Bausch Health, Baxter, Becton Dickinson, Boston Scientific, Edwards Lifesciences, Johnson & Johnson, Medtronic, Philips, Roche Diagnostics, and Stryker.

“Through the MedAccred assessments, our processes can be rigorously tested to ensure we are utilizing industry-recognized best practices,” said Bruce Marchioni, Jabil Vice President of Quality and Regulatory Affairs. “For the customers we serve, this mark of excellence provides confidence in Jabil’s ability to meet their expectations. Jabil considers this effort as integral to its culture of quality and continuous improvement.”

Plastic injection molding of components used in medical devices demands high quality, accuracy, and repeatability, said the press release from the Performance Review Institute, which administers the program. It is an efficient and cost-effective way to achieve precision and accuracy in component manufacture, it added.

“Our relentless pursuit of quality defines not just what we do, but who we are. MedAccred is a powerful lens for illuminating the current state of our operations, providing insight that can strengthen our future growth aspirations,” said Evelyn Ferrer, Jabil Senior Operations Director for Latin America.
