MGS Breaks Ground on Innovation Center

MGS, a contract manufacturer offering end-to-end services for global medical device and life science OEMs, recently broke ground on a state-of-the-art Innovation Center on the company’s Germantown, WI, campus. The expansion brings an additional 120,000 square feet to company headquarters and represents ongoing investments in growth and expansion to meet customer needs in the pharma, diagnostics, and medtech sectors, said MGS.

The MGS Innovation Center will feature collaborative workspaces dedicated to ideation and product development, tooling development, automation, and part and process validation. Class 7 and Class 8 cleanrooms will be on site for part and process validation along with a dedicated quality lab with enhanced tactile-, optical- and CT-measuring capabilities.

The center is expected to open to customers by the end of 2024.

The Innovation Center also consolidates the company’s existing Germantown global automation center and its sampling facility in Menomonee Falls, WI, on a single campus, integrating them with MGS’ newly acquired product development and design capabilities. Customers will be able to access all aspects of early product development on a single campus for greater access and efficiency, said MGS.

This consolidation and expansion was first announced in October 2020, when MGS broke ground on the Germantown campus to build a 121,000-square-foot warehouse. At the time it anticipated beginning construction in the spring of 2022 at a cost of $15 million.

MGS offers vertically integrated services across product design and development, plastics processing, tooling, manufacturing, and automation at 16 locations around the world.
