Register Now for Molding 2022

Be sure to checkout the technical program for Molding 2022, Plastics Technology’s annual conference for injection molders? It’s scheduled for Nov. 8-10 in Charlotte, N.C. If you register now— or at least before Oct. 7— you can save yourself a couple of hundred bucks.

For more than 30 years now, the conference has provided a robust educational program and unique networking opportunities for the injection molding community. Executive Editor Tony Deligio has curated a schedule of cutting-edge contemporary topics that run the gamut of all aspects of the injection molding process, from pellet to part. Tony has lined up a veritable who’s who list of speakers who will focus on best practices and emerging technologies. One topic that will receive quite a bit of attention during the program is sustainability. The program addresses this critical issue holistically with presentations covering machinery, materials and process.

There are a couple of new wrinkles this year. Molding 2022 will be colocated with the inaugural MoldMaking Conference, organized by Plastics Technology’s sister publication MoldMaking Technology under the guidance of Editorial Director Christina Fuges. All registrants for Molding 2022 will also have access to the MoldMaking 2022 concurrent slate of presentations. Between the two events, there will be more than 50 expert speakers covering in depth the technologies and best practices to ensure top-tier injection molding and moldmaking.

Both conferences will also share networking opportunities for molders and moldmakers to connect and collaborate, including during the opening reception at the end of Day 1 in Charlotte’s NASCAR Hall of Fame, which is also covered by your conference registration.

Also new this year is a post-conference workshop and tour at the Polymers Center of Excellence. Plastics Technology columnist and scientific molding expert Suhas Kulkarni will lead attendees in Melt Preparation Techniques—Settings and Techniques to Optimize the Melt in Your Process. A limited number of attendees who sign up for the three-hour morning workshop will be split into groups, participating in Kulkarni’s training as well as getting a hands-on tour of the Polymers Center, which includes the latest material characterization technologies.

Returning in 2022, is the conference’s Hot Shots parts competition. Launched at Molding 2021, Hot Shots gives molders the chance to recognize the accomplishments of other molders—or put forward their own parts—with a People’s Choice voting model naming winners in Technical Sophistication and Achievement in Molding Efficiency or Economics.  Finalists will be covered by Plastics Technology prior to Molding, and after the winners are revealed at Molding 2022, they will be highlighted in an article in this magazine. There’s still time to submit your parts for recognition by your peers.

Register now for the opportunity to deepen your knowledge of molding and bring back to your plant tips and best practices that you can put in place right away to make your operation more efficient and competitive.
