With our inaugural and successful PTXPO trade show behind us, the team at Plastics Technology is now shifting into conference mode. As in prior years, we have two: one focused on injection molding, the other on extrusion. This year, both will be held in Charlotte, N.C., though not at the same time (or specific place).

If you are involved in injection molding, save this date: Nov. 8-10. That’s when the injection molding technical community will come together at the Charlotte Convention Center for Molding 2022. Our editors are in the process of putting together what will, as usual, be a robust program addressing the latest developments in various molding processes, equipment, materials and management techniques, with special emphasis on adding value to your business. Learn tips, techniques, and best practices to implement at your shop from injection molding’s top technical minds.

As was the case last year, we are holding a parts competition at this conference. We call it “Hot Shots 2022.” Using a “People’s Choice” model, all attendees will be eligible to cast a ballot. One winner will be chosen for technical sophistication and one for achievement in molding efficiency and/or economics. This year, for the first time, we are co-locating Molding 2022 with the inaugural Moldmaking 2022 Conference. Put together by Christina Fuges, the firebrand editorial director of sister publication MoldMaking Technology, the program, in her words, “Will offer high-quality, noncommercial presentations focused on practical solutions for dealing with the challenges and complexities of mold manufacturing—from mold design to first shot.” Bookmark moldmakingconference.com and stay up to date on programming, registration and hotel information. Meantime, The Extrusion 2022 Conference is heading back to Charlotte, Dec. 6-8 at the Omni Hotel Charlotte. Launched in 2015, this annual event is a get-together for some of the most prominent experts and technically savvy minds in extrusion processing. The Extrusion Conference program is aimed at helping you get a handle of everyday problems and processing hiccups so that you can better utilize existing assets.

The program is divided into morning General Sessions, which apply to all extrusion processes; and afternoon Breakout Sessions, which drill down on areas specific to your business: Film/Sheet; Pipe, Profile and Tubing; Compounding.
